Eastbourne Cineworld announces new reopening date

Eastbourne Cineworld has announced when it plans to reopen.

The chain, which has a multiplex in The Beacon shopping centre, had initially planned to open its cinemas on July 10, but was been delayed.

It announced today (July 1) cinemas will now be opening on July 31.

A spokesperson for Cineworld said, “In line with recent changes to upcoming film release dates, we are planning to re-open on July 31.

“We hope we will be able to re-open the doors of all Cineworld cinemas across the UK and Ireland at that time, however upcoming re-openings remain subject to final clarifications and confirmation in relation to various government COVID-19 restrictions.”

Cineworld said it will announce on social media once tickets go on sale, which will be closer to its re-opening date.

Alongside countless other businesses, cinemas have been closed since March due to the coronavirus lockdown.
