Staff at Everycare in Eastbourne have been donating Christmas food for the local Foodbank charity. Louise Craig, office manager, said: "We have been overwhelmed with donations of Christmas goodies for local families who are in need over the festive period. Members of Eastbourne and District Soroptimist Club have been involved in a local tree planting project with Eastbourne Borough Council. They planted trees earlier in the year and have recently had a second tree planting session this autumn. They also planted one large tree to celebrate 100 years of the organisation Soroptimist International. SUS-211220-122516001

Children in Year 5 at Grovelands Primary School performed their show, It’s All Greek To Me, to parents and staff on Thursday, November 25. The children dressed in Ancient Greek-style costumes to perform their play, based on a school Greek day. In a frenzy of dancing, songs, poems and acting, the children transported the audience back in time to the land of Ancient Greece, with all its myths, fables and legends. Oscar (Year 4) from Grovelands Community Primary School in Hailsham, was one of the runners up in Wealden MP Nus Ghani’s Christmas card design competition. Every child of primary school age in Wealden was asked to submit a design in the autumn, and Oscar’s design will be one of three gracing Ms Ghani’s Christmas card, which will be sent out nationwide. The winner was Eva (Year 6) of High Hurstwood Primary School and the second runner up was Elsa (Year 6) from St Michael’s Primary School in Withyham. SUS-211220-112651001
