Clients – new and old – are being encouraged to access People Matter’s help through remote services, whilst the charity’s offices in Saffrons Road remain temporarily closed.

A People Matter’s spokesperson said, since the enforced closure of the offices in mid-March, their experienced team of advisers have operated remotely to continue to support job seekers.

The scheme, according to the charity, has now been working successfully for more than a month with a number of claimants, who have found their way to the service via social media and the local media.

And now, the spokesperson said, the service is being extended to offer interview practice and preparation to job seekers, either by telephone or via Zoom or Face Time, all again with the involvement of experienced professionals.

People Matter offers a range of free services from CV writing and mock interviews to confidence building courses and training workshops.

Its team is encouraging people to get on the ‘front foot’ early before a possible upsurge in demand as the country emerges from lockdown.

Whether that’s for interview practice, creating a new CV or sharpening up an existing one, People Matter’s experienced team can help.

The charity also develops relationships with employers through its Working For You team and has a successful track record, according to the service, on matching up clients with job opportunities.

Anyone over the age of 19 – or aged 18 if on Universal Credit – can access People Matter’s services free of charge.

Those interested will need to be registered clients of People Matter and are encouraged to email [email protected].
