Eastbourne Foodbank pleas to shoppers for tins

Shoppers are urged to ‘think tins’ next week for Eastbourne Foodbank.

The charity says it is running low on tinned goods as it continues it vital work bringing food to vulnerable people during lockdown.

Howard Wardle, CEO of the Eastbourne branch, said, “This week we’re running low on tinned peas, tinned carrots and tinned meat.

“If you can put an extra couple of tins in your trolley, this will help so much.

“We are so incredibly grateful to all shoppers who have made regular donations to keep the Foodbank going.

“Our most vulnerable neighbours and residents are hit hard during this difficult time and it’s your generosity that makes the difference for so many families.”

Most of the major supermarkets around the town have a drop-off point to donate Foodbank items.
