Eastbourne Macmillan Coffee morning gets a spooky makeover

A Macmillan Coffee Morning with a Hallowe’en twist took place in The Beacon Centre on Saturday October 31.

The event was organised by community fundraisers Don and Abby McPhee, along with Macmillan fundraising manager Emma Hammett, and took place in The Hut, with teas, coffees and plenty of home-made cakes on offer.

Eastbourne mayor Steve Wallis and MP Caroline Ansell were on hand to serve refreshments.

Don said: “This has been a difficult year for so many charities so we were more than happy to help Macmillan.

“Also as Hallowe’en wasn’t going to be quite the same for children this year, we decided to give the coffee morning a Hallowe’en theme.

“Children were invited to come along in Hallowe’en costumes, and those that did were given a prize generously donated by Marks and Spencer, Sussex Cars and Ninja Warrior - the new indoor adventure centre.”

The Hut was given a spooky makeover by Maz from Old Town barbers and Helen from Forever Daisy. Nearly £400 was raised.

The organisers would like to thank Bob Bremer from Sussex Cars for sponsoring the event.
