Eastbourne seafront incident: Person airlifted to hospital in life-threatening condition

A person has been airlifted to hospital in a life-threatening condition after emergency services including an air ambulance were called to Eastbourne seafront.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesperson said it was called to reports of a person in the water by Royal Parade just before 2pm today (Monday, February 27).

They added: “Ambulance crews attended alongside the fellow emergency and Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Service [crews]. A person was treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital in London in a life-threatening condition.”

Crews had been photographed by the Redoubt Car Park.
