Also receiving an award were the site team at Eastbourne Academy. The team, consisting of manager Dave Earle and his assistants Chris Taylor and Ian Broughton, were nominated for their tireless work ensuring the safety and smooth running of the Academy. Sadly Ian passed away in February, a huge loss for the team and school, and he is deeply missed.

Clem Jackson, of St John’s Meads Church of England Primary School, was named as School Volunteer of the Year.

Judges said of him - Clem is Safeguarding Link Governor, a member of the Ethos and Admissions Committee, and a positive and encouraging figure at the school. He supports the children in any way he can whether accompanying school trips, helping Year 6 with their reading, or assisting the end-of-year school production of The Tempest.
