Eastbourne’s Santa Fun Run raised money for jobseekers

The Eastbourne Santa Fun Run raised money for a charity that supports jobseekers.

The Covid-safe event saw runners of any age completing a distance and route of their choice in Santa costumes on December 20.

The 2020 race raised £195 for the mayor’s charity which works to support jobseekers.

Participants were encouraged to raise funds for either their favourite charity or the mayor’s choice, People Matter, which provides guidance and information to jobseekers.

The mayor, councillor Steve Wallis, said, “Thank you to everyone who put on their Santa suit and ran, whether it was along streets, gardens, the seafront or the Downs – your efforts are greatly appreciated. “

Ann Gillard, People Matter CEO, said, “With a huge upturn in numbers since last March, all funds to support services are greatly appreciated, and will be put to good use.”
