A fire broke out at an address in Eastbourne last night (Monday, October 18).

An eye-witness said emergency service crews were called to the fire in Timberley Road at around 5.15pm.

An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said, “At 5.17pm yesterday, we were called to attend a fire at a residential property on Timberly Road.

“Firefighters from Eastbourne, Pevensey, Bexhill, Hailsham and Heathfield attended.

“The fire had emanated from a fuse box under the stairs.”

The spokesperson said three people were handed over to the care of the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

The ambulance service confirmed they took one of the three people to Eastbourne District General Hospital with minor injuries.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said, “Police were called only to assist the fire service with traffic control.”
