First Sunday recital at St Michael’s Church in Lewes

Mezzo soprano Sara Gourlay will perform alongside Nicholas Houghton in the First Sunday Recital at St Michael’s Church in Lewes on Sunday 7 June.

The recital at the church in the High Street will include songs by Handel, Gluck, Brahms and Duparc and will begin at 3pm. Admission is free with a retiring collection in aid of church repairs.

Sara sings as a mezzo soprano soloist for various choral societies.

She is a founder member of the Canto Song and Voice School and works as a vocal rehabilitation coach and voice therapist.

She conducts the community choir the Chromatics.

Nicholas Houghton is well known as head of the East Sussex Academy of Music, as the music director of local choirs such as the Lewes Singers and as an organ continuo player.

St Michael’s was founded in the year 1200.
