Free community pumpkin trail will replace trick or treat in Eastbourne this Hallowe’en
Not wanting local children to miss out on the fun of trick or treating, Eastbourne mum, web designer and debt centre manager, Helen Diplock, came up with a novel alternative.
This Hallowe’en, Old Town residents and businesses are encouraged to decorate their houses with a scary pumpkin.

Since launching the idea on Facebook on Friday, the Pumpkin Trail has already had 300 people signing up.
Those displaying a pumpkin can add a pin to the Pumpkin Map at here, and on Hallowe’en, share a photo with the hashtag #OldTownPumpkins.
Local businesses are also getting involved, and some have already donated prizes, such as Old Town Community Library.
