A fundraiser in memory of a ‘caring and loving’ Horsham girl who was killed in a crash has topped £7,000 in just four hours.

Finlay Craen, the brother of Mia Craen who died in a collision on Saturday, launched the fundraiser with the hope of giving his sister the ‘send off she deserves’.

But he has been overwhelmed by the response as in just four hours, hundreds of people have donated raising thousands of pounds.

Finlay, who has quadrupled his original target, said: “I don’t even know what so say. I wasn’t even expecting a couple of hundred pounds. It’s just unreal. That’s just from the community of Horsham.

“It’s unreal seeing how generous people have been.

“[Mia] just deserves to be able to have a nice funeral and just [be] shown the respect she showed everyone.”

Finlay, director and operations manager at Retail123, said his sister was always positive.

He added: “She was the most amazing girl. She had a heart of gold. She was just lovely and loved by many.

“She was just a girl with a bubbly personality who would smile no matter what. In all the photos I have been sent of her – she’s smiling – there’s not one where’s she’s not smiling or isn’t happy.”

Finlay said the moment he learned of his sister’s death was ‘terrible and heartbreaking’.

He added: “It was a huge shock when I got the call. The world just stopped.”

Tributes on the GoFundMe page have flooded in as quickly as the donations.

Another added: “Mia always had a smile on her face and would light up the room when she entered.”
