Generous gesture from Littlehampton donor

A KIND-HEARTED Gazette reader has made an anonymous donation to a 91-year-old Rustington woman who had to pay £30 in taxi fares to Worthing Hospital and back just to have a blood test.

Cancer sufferer Florence Budgen, of Brendon Way, featured in a Gazette story in which she criticised Westcourt Medical Centre in Rustington, which told her she would have to wait two weeks for the urgently-needed test.

Days later, she received a card, signed only by “Jocelyn, Littlehampton”, with £30 enclosed. “I would really like to thank her,” said Florence.
