Girl with cerebal palsy completes 12 mile charity walk in Burgess Hill

Annabelle Carter, who has cerebal palsy, started the walk on Monday, June 15, successfully completing her mission one month later on Wednesday, July 15.

The car park at Kiddi Caru, the Burgess Hill nursery she attends, was full of supporters cheering for Annabelle as she crossed the finish line, having smashed her target of £500.

when she crossed the finishing line, held up by two of her friends, and was awarded her medal that the children had made for her.

Annabelle’s parents, Rochelle and Simon, said: “We’re incredibly proud of her, 12 miles is a massive achievement for Annabelle and we would like to thank everyone who donated and supported her along her journey.”

Annabelle completed the 12 miles through a mixture of walking in her walker and cycling on her trike.

The money raised will be used for her surgery and post-op therapy.

Leanne Miller, nursery manager, said: “Annabelle is such a bubbly and sweet girl and we knew nothing would stop her from achieving this amazing goal on she set her mind to it.

“Everyone is so proud of Annabelle, all her friends wore their superhero costumes, jumpers, capes and masks to see her cross the finish line - because Annabelle is our superhero!”
