Eastbourne fundraisers are attempting to lift the town’s spirits with a virtual dance-along.

The McPhee family – Don and his daughter and son Abby and Thomas – have this week been encouraging people to film themselves dancing to Pharell Williams’ track Happy.

Thomas is putting all the videos together to create an uplifting clip to help people at this difficult time. They are aiming to lift the spirits of the town and there has been a good response with around ten to 12 people taking part in the first week. Find it on our website.

The McPhees are picking a different song each week and encouraging people to get involved and start singing and dancing around the living room or kitchen to an uplifting pop song.

Don said: “We just thought we’d try and lift everyone’s spirits at what is a really dreadful time. It is fun to take part and fun to watch too. You can also write messages to hold up too.

“I recently lost a friend, Craig Steadman, to cancer and I just know that he would have approved of this. He would have loved it.”

Next week’s song is Shake it Off by Taylor Swift and will be edited next Wednesday.

Send your videos to Whatsapp 07929759195 or to Don McPhee via Facebook.
