Hastings church delivers gifts to vulnerable people in lockdown

Each bag includes food items to provide practical support, as well as fun and inspiring activities to help people – young or old – in the mental challenges and boredom that are currently a struggle for many.

The bags are distributed to vulnerable members of the community who, pre-lockdown, were welcomed to HTH in Robertson Street each week as part of the Safehaven Men and Safehaven Women initiatives.

Bags will also be given to those living alone, the elderly, youth, and families.

The contents of the bags have been paid for by a combination of gift and grant money and have been filled and distributed by volunteers from HTH, all observing strict social distancing rules.

Simon Larkin, vicar of Holy Trinity Hastings, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing the #Loveyourneighbour initiative to our community, sharing this practical expression of love and blessing with those around us.”

The church invites people to join in every Sunday at 11.15am for a Sunday service online.
