Hastings couple to become Mr and Mrs Christmas on Christmas Eve

Gill Chambers, 53, and Dave Christmas, 56 were due to get married on December 3 but, 'due to circumstance', their special day has now been moved back three weeks to December 24.

The couple, both originally from London, moved to Hastings 15 years ago and will tie the knot at Hastings Registry Office at 2pm.

The day will be extra special for them both following Dave's recovering from a heart attack which saw him undergo a triple heart bypass. The procedure led to complications, including a ruptured aorta, which caused him to have a stroke.

This year has also been particularly tough for Dave who was made redundant after being furloughed from his job with Toyota.

Gillian, who has been working at Asda throughout the pandemic, said Christmas Eve will be their 'special day' after everything Dave has gone through and cannot wait for them to become Mr and Mrs Christmas.

The happy couple will be joined by Gillian's daughters – Kayleigh, Katy and Becky – and Dave's daughter and son – Kayleigh and Ben – to celebrate their big day.
