Hastings Pier ice rink will not go ahead
Hastings Borough Council said they were working closely with the new pier operator, looking at their proposals for the winter, ‘but were notified they would no longer be proceeding’.
The council did not provide any further information.
On Thursday evening (October 29), Hastings Pier said: “Unfortunately the ice skating sessions at the planned Winter Wonderland event will no longer be happening, refunds are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk.
“Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
A number of people contacted Hastings Pier after purchasing tickets for the attraction via TicketSource.
TicketSource said they are communicating with the event organiser ‘regarding the cancellation of this event’.
The ice rink was due to open on November 21.
It was part of the pier’s Winter Wonderland event which would have been open daily with festive rides, food and bars, until January 3.
It would have been the first real ice rink to operate on a pier in the UK.
Hastings Pier previously said all ticket holders would receive a refund if Covid-19 caused another lockdown.
