Owner Dan Wiltshire and his chefs have spent weeks perfecting the recipe for the Jamaican inspired Blessed Up Burger which has a spiced crispy coating and tastes remarkably like moist fried chicken.

They have also launched a selection of different vegan fries to be served up with it, including hot dog topped, cheesy garlic, hempy donor and Cajun spiced.

The Hempist was hit by the latest lockdown after being full booked for a vegan Christmas dinner, which then had to be cancelled.

Dan added: “Since we opened in February last year, people have constantly asked us for fries so we decided to respond to the requests.

The new fried chicken style burger and fries are launched on Friday January 22 and can be ordered from the Hempist for delivery through Just Eat.
