Homelessness charity given picnic tables and chairs during trip to South Downs Nurseries in Hassocks

A youth homelessness charity was given some much-needed outdoor furniture on a recent trip to South Downs Nurseries in Hassocks.

YMCA Sussex and Surrey, which accommodates 750 young people each night across seven sites, received picnic tables and garden seats for their DownsLink group.

During the visit YMCA’s Sam Hart and James Gaydon met Clive Gravett, founder of the Budding Foundation, who handed over the furniture.

Clive said: “We support young people through the county and work closely with family-run Tates of Sussex garden centres to meet various needs.

The YMCA DownsLink Group has youth advice centres, community and school counselling services, family mediation and other youth focussed services, and provides support to 10,000 children, young people and families each year.
