A free video conference ‘to collate ideas to help the commmunity’ is to be held every week by organisers of Horsham’s Climate Cafe.

The conference will take place every Saturday at 2pm using the free video chat Zoom.

Climate cafe founder Carrie Cort said: ”Anyone is welcome to join us from their home PC or phone for about an hour, sometimes we will have a pre-planned informal conversation around a specific subject.”

She said it was planned “to collate ideas for ways to help our community, save money and benefit the planet.”

This Saturday (April 4) there will be informal conversations about frugal living and zero waste lifestyle by Fiona Hamilton who runs Earth Kind – a plastic free food refills service.

Helen Whittington will talk about the new Horsham Repair Cafe cleaning and personal product bottle refill service she is offering during lockdown.

And Carrie herself, founder of Sussex Green Living, will talk about saving money through switching energy providers.

On Saturday April 11 Carrie will host an informal conversation about an educational eco art competition ‘clean up and create a bright new future’ which the South Downs National Park are running with 16 x £150 prizes to be won.

The theme on Saturday April 18 is ‘grow your own’, with encouragement and advice for families taking advantage of having more time at home to plant in their gardens or on their windowsills – creating a cheaper and greener source of food.

On Saturday May 2 there will be a chance to talk to Tony Whitbread, president of Sussex Wildlife Trust.
