Angie Maskell, 52, runs fashion store Deja Style in Park Place.

But when lockdown restrictions forced her to close the doors of her beloved shop she took to filming weekly videos to stay connected to her customers.

Angie said: “[I thought] I’ve got to get my act together and do videos for the shop. I’ve got a theatrical background – I used to be a costume designer.

“At the beginning I was just doing it as a laugh and people said please don’t stop doing it.”

Angie added that she wanted to distinguish her videos from others which were ‘quite boring’ by bringing some excitement into the mix.

She has filmed various shorts including a homage to Dolly Parton and a rendition of Tina Turner’s Simply the Best.

And the videos are boosting sales, according to Angie.

She said: “I’ve sold loads in the lockdown. To people in the north – to people abroad.”

But despite being allowed to reopen her bricks and mortar store, Angie said she has no plans to stop her videos.

She added: “I’m going to continue to do it for a while.”
