James Bond actress and Lewes resident Honor Blackman has died aged 94, national media reports.

According to the BBC, her family said she died peacefully of natural causes at her home in Lewes.

The British actress was best known for the roles of Bond girl Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, Cathy Gale in The Avengers, Julia Daggett in Shalako and Hera in Jason and the Argonauts.

In a statement released to the BBC, her family said: “As well as being a much adored mother and grandmother, Honor was an actor of hugely prolific creative talent.

“We ask you to respect the privacy of our family at this difficult time.”
