Knitted poppy display in Rustington brings joy

A beautiful display of knitted poppies in Rustington has brought joy to many who missed out on the village’s annual Remembrance Sunday service.

Janet Bugden made the poppies and created a display of them along the railings outside her house in The Crescent, Rustington.

Husband David said: “We did it this year as people couldn’t gather for the Service of Remembrance in the High Street, unfortunately, so thought we’d make a special effort.

“We’ve had many, many positive comments from neighbours and people just passing by, and a local childminder group of very young children have visited as well, so nice to know that it’s brought a bit of joy to a lot of people.”
