Man dies after collapsing in St Leonards

A man aged in his 70s has died after emergency services were called to a medical incident in St Leonards this morning.

Police attended Marina, St Leonards at 9.35am on Wednesday (March 17) after reports of a medical incident.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Despite the best efforts of paramedics and police in attendance, a man in his 70s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and the man’s next of kin has been informed.”

Paramedics were also called to the scene.

A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “I can confirm that we were called at approximately 9.30am today to reports a man had collapsed.

“Ambulance crews attended the scene alongside officers from Sussex Police. Sadly, efforts to resuscitate the man proved unsuccessful and he died at the scene.”
