Ashley said: “To show our support I had contacted a couple of local schools, and we have agreed that we want to do something to show our support, love and care to everyone that sacrificed so much for us.

“I have a large window display which I have asked the Littlehampton schools if they would kindly colour a picture of a poppy flower in for me to I have loads of bright poppies fulling my window display to show we care and are extremely grateful for everything they did.”

More than 600 poppies have been sent out.

Ashley said: “Everyone is welcome to join in with this free community event. I personally feel with everything going on at present it will be nice to offer something free and community based. I’m kindly asking people to either provide their own poppy to colour or come and collect from myself. Then return the colour in Poppy to 5 Surrey Street, Littlehampton.”
