The temporary pop-up car park click-and-collect will allow residents to continue their shopping as the Budgens site becomes a Sainsbury's.

Sainsbury’s will be providing the click-and-collect service from Sunday (September 13) to minimise disruption to the community during the time the store is closed for the major upgrade.

Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s property director said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the support of the local community since we announced our plans to open a new Neighbourhood Hub store in Midhurst.

"We’re committed to minimising disruption to customers throughout the closure period and are putting measures in place to ensure people can continue to collect their shopping locally whilst the refurbishment is underway.”

Customers will be able to order products online for the click-and-collect service from Wednesday (September 9).

The click-and-collect slots will be subject to availability and customers can book a maximum of one slot per week. Next day delivery will be available for orders made before 11pm and the service is free for orders over £40.

A cost of £4 will be added to the orders below £40.

In addition to the new click-and-collect, residents will also be able to use Sainsbury’s Groceries Online service or Sainsbury’s Assisted Shopping scheme in order to get what they need while temporarily unable to visit the local store.

Local residents have the option to order groceries online for delivery direct to their homes, with a variety of delivery options including time slots available. Sainsbury's Assisted Shopping scheme is there to also support people who are housebound or unable to online shop by allowing them to complete their shopping over the phone.

The new Midhurst Sainsbury’s will be one of only three Neighbourhood Hub stores in the country and will be approximately three times the size of a Sainsbury’s Local, stocking a wide range of popular everyday essentials including household products, ready meals, fresh products and food to go.

The new store will offer a range of exciting new features, including an Argos collection point which will bring great choice, value and convenience to customers who will benefit from thousands of technology, home and toy products available for collection.

Sainsbury’s will be commencing its refurbishment from September 7, in preparation for the new Sainsbury’s store to open mid-November.
