Police are urging motorists to avoid major routes into Brighton due to a large protest on the seafront.

Sussex Police said the routes are currently experiencing major congestion and delays in a message on Twitter.

Hundreds of people have gathered on the seafront for a Black Lives Matter protest.

Brighton and Hove buses said all coastal services westbound are going up Rock Gardens and down Edward Street to get to the Old Steine.

Eastbound services are going up St James’ Street and down Rock Gardens, serving all stops on route.
