Much loved Wisborough Green market is set to return

Wisborough Green market, which closed its doors in March due to the pandemic, will return on Saturday from 10am to 2pm, with visitors encouraged to wear fancy dress.

From now on, the monthly market will be held outdoors at the Village Hall Car Park.

Market committee member Sally Marsh said: “We are thrilled to have our market back, all volunteers involved have been working hard and with enthusiasm to make this a reality in very difficult circumstances.”

Talking about the comeback of the market, and speaking on behalf of the Parish Council, Wisborough Green Parish clerk Louise Davies said: “We are very happy that the Market is back and we are excited that it is launching with such a fun event to bring joy to the community at this difficult time, and we’d like to invite residents and visitors to come and support the Market to help support local.”

District councillor Gareth Evans added: “The Wisborough Green Market Committee members have done an amazing job to bring this back in very challenging circumstances and they have efficiently been following all recommendations from Chichester District Council Market Team to ensure Covid-19 protocols are followed. This event goes totally in line with CDC campaign to support local businesses and I hope that we can see as many people as possible at the market whilst observing social distancing measures.”
