New Brexit street art in Chichester welcomed by residents

The artwork shows a girl holding a balloon with the EU flag on it and appears to have been painted in North Pallant to mark Brexit.

"Not everyone will appreciated it but Chichester has always been a city that celebrates culture, regardless of it being art, music or theatre."

Janet Jones said: "Love all the artwork! Wish there were more areas around town like this. Also many visitors love to find these unusual spots."

Nicholas Morgan said: "Art is meant to initiate debate so as art it has been very successful already.

"Personally, I think it's pretty cool."

Despite a majority of comments speaking of the works favourably, some readers appeared less than happy with the art.

"It's utter rubbish," said Joe Doherty, "It defaces the building and should be removed by the council like any other graffiti. It's also embarrassing and infantil that the city can't distinguish between are and juvenile scribbling."
