The shop, called The Emporium of Beautiful Things, is opening at St Andrews Mews, Waldegrave Street, in the town centre.
The opening event on Saturday, from 2pm – 5pm, includes free face painting for kids, a free glass of Prosecco, gin tasting with Copperpot Gin and 20 percent off all purchases. There will also be live music.
The shop sees two creative businesses joining forces, Inside and Garden run by Beverley Sulsh and Allthingsspoon, run by Andrea Head.
Beverley explained: “We met at an event and in the midst of the mayhem hit it off. After a conversation found we both had a similar vision of having a shop and from this The emporium of beautiful things was born.
“Andrea makes lovely things from spoons and I have beautiful gifts and decorative items. The shop will be unique as we are unique.
“We will also be having other crafters and small businesses that make unique items gin, candles, cards, gifts and so much more. We will also be having a crafter of the month where each month we invite local talent to showcase their wares, hopefully giving all local small businesses a chance to shine.”
