The completed artwork will be displayed at a location in Hastings and St Leonards in the near future.

They can only use patterns and shapes and won’t use leaves with words.

They can only use clear photographs of the work. Phone cameras are fine to use as long as the image isn’t too blurry. The Deadline for the contributions has been extended to April 30.

A spokesperson said: “Due to the current Coronavirus situation the artwork will be initially shown to all online. We intend to print the image large scale to be installed somewhere locally as and when its safe to do so.”

This year’s four day Jack in the Green Festival was to have taken place from Friday may 1, with the colourful street procession taking place on Monday May 4. The event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic but organisers plan to stage a virtual festival this year and are asking people to dress up in green, decorate their homes and share images.
