Polegate is getting a new skate park

A Facebook post from Polegate Town Council said, “A new skate park is coming soon to Brightling Road recreation ground.”

Hide AdThis will replace the current skate/scooter park which has been closed due to Covid restrictions.
There is already a BMX track, woodland area, and miniature railway at this site, according to the council website.
A spokesperson from the council said, “It is planned for the works to start at the end of this month and be completed by mid May. Unfortunately because of the current restrictions we will be unable to have the opening event we would like to.

Hide Ad“There will be a small one once works are completed but we are planning a proper opening event in late June/July time hopefully once restrictions are lifted.”
The council said members are consulting with the local skate park users about changes they want to see.
The spokesperson said, “We would love to hear from local residents, especially those that use the skate park, about what they would want to see in the new concrete skate park.”
