Police said officers were called to the property in Delaware Drive, St Leonards, shortly before 9pm on Thursday (April 8) to a report of a device which was thought to be an unexploded ordnance shell.

A police spokesman said the area was secured until Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams were able to attend and remove the item to be destroyed safely.
