Prestigious Sir David Attenborough certificate awarded to Eastbourne school

Pashley Down Infant School in Eastbourne has received the 'Schools for Nature' certificate from Sir David Attenborough for making their school a little wilder for nature to thrive.

The Pashley Eco Warriors have been very creative by reusing and upcycling every day items to help wildlife.

Some of their creations are a tin can to make a bee nursery, a juice carton to make a butterfly hibernation house, plastic bottle to make a bird feeder, two bicycle wheels to make a runner bean trellis, and decorating milk cartons, wellies and tin cans to make planters for flowers and vegetables.

The creations can be seen on the Pashley allotments opposite the school entrance where the children learn how to grow vegetables for the Pashley Farm animals to eat, as well as care for their own school bee hives.
