The main page of the website was turned a deep brown colour, with the message: “In loving memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021.

“Thank you for your service...you will be greatly missed.”

There is now speculation over whether Prince Harry and Meghan, who live in the US, will return for the funeral.

If they did fly over, it would be their first time in the UK and seeing family members face-to-face since their explosive two-hour interview with Oprah Winfrey aired last month.

Prince Harry is likely to be there for the funeral, according to some media reports, however Meghan may choose not to attend considering she is expecting the couple’s second child, a girl, in the summer.

Funeral preparations are already underway after Prince Philip passed away peacefully at home yesterday, at the age of 99.

It is expected to take place at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel.
