Birling Gap, one of the longest stretches of undeveloped coastline on England’s south coast, between Brighton and Eastbourne, has become the prime filming location for Channel 4 psychological drama “Close to Me.”

The crew were seen filming last night, ahead of the release of the thrilling six-part series set to come to Channel 4.

Starring Christopher Eccleston, best known for his role as Doctor Who, and Connie Neilson, who featured in blockbusters including Gladiator and Wonder Woman, the drama tells the story of a woman who loses an entire year of her memory after a fall, and as she struggles to remember everything that’s happened, she finds out that her life was far from perfect at all.

The series is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Amanda Reynolds. It will be the first English-language drama to come from Nordic Entertainment Group’s UK operation, and is in early stages of production.
