Red Oaks’ care assistants Ashley Hobbs, Frances Urquart and Suzanna Portugal completed their VQ level 2 training, while Emily Maynard worked hard to complete her care practitioner qualification.

Linda Ryan, general manager at Red Oaks, said: “All are integral members of the team who excel at what they do. I’m delighted that they have completed the training and progressed into these new roles, which will help our home run even more efficiently and will enable theme to develop their careers further. They have worked so hard and I’m very proud of them.”

The care practitioner role has been introduced by Barchester Healthcare, the organisation that runs the home, in order to further develop talented care staff and enable them to give more support to the nurses working at the home.

Emily is the third person at the home to complete the course and she is already making a big difference to maintaining and developing its standard of care. She said: “I really enjoyed learning lots of new skills and building on the knowledge I have gathered during my years working at the home. I look forward to growing further within this role and continuing to support the people we care for.”
