Each of these lovely pups are currently in care at Raystede – a charity situated in Ringmer, near Lewes.
The charity says adopting through a rehoming centre can take a little extra time and patience, but the rewards are worth it.
1. Luigi - three-year-old crossbreed
Luigi is a very friendly, excitable terrier who is looking for an active home to enjoy. However, he can be a little timid in some situations, according to Raystede. He may not have previously lived in a home environment and needs overall support to learn about everything, the charity said. He is friendly with other dogs and could possibly live with teenagers. Luigi is best friends with Mario, the charity said, and they could be adopted together. Photo: Raystede

3. Treacle and Tart - Border Terrier cross and Whippet
Treacle, 14, and Teal, 9, are currently settling in. They will soon be looking for a very special home that would be willing to adopt them or foster them in their twilight years, Raystede said. Treacle and Teal are an adorable pair, described as very sweet natured and gentle. They will need a cosy warm home with a nice garden so they can potter about, as they will not manage long walks, according to the charity. Photo: Raystede
4. Sprout - one-year-old Cockapoo
Sprout is an anxious dog who is going to need an experienced home to provide on going support throughout his life, according to Raystede. He is an adolescent so may show behaviours that are more challenging - he needs a home that will be keen to carry on with his training and that understands the breed mixture. Sprout could possibly live with a calm dog, and will require lots of training around other canines. He cannot live with cats. Photo: Raystede
