Restaurants to reopen this weekend: this is what diners can expect

The owner of a St Leonards restaurant has shown returning customers what to expect when the business reopens to the public on July 4.

Following the Government’s announcement allowing hospitality businesses to reopen on Saturday, Aldo Esposito, the owner of La Bella Vista, in Grand Parade, St Leonards, has been preparing for the return of customers. Hand sanitiser will be available on entry which customers will be strongly advised to use before entering the restaurant. Handwashing facilities and hand sanitiser will also be provided in the bathrooms and outside the facilities for use on entry and exit. Customers have also been asked to respect social distancing as far as possible, especially when entering and exiting the dining room. Mr Esposito said: “Hygiene within the restaurant has our complete attention and we have a range of extra measures in place to help reduce the risk of transmission by limiting shared points of contact and reducing the capacity of the restaurant. Full details are available upon request. Toilet facilities will be actively monitored and cleaned hourly. Finally, we have a 15 minute grace period on all bookings. Please call us if you are running later than 15 minutes after your booked time. Your table will be booked for two hours unless agreed otherwise. Please ensure we have your correct contact details as we may need to contact you about your booking and your details will also be used in the unlikely eventuality that we are contacted by NHS Test and Trace. Your details will be kept confidential, in a locked filing cabinet and destroyed after 21 days.”
