Rustington pupils get creative and share Easter wishes

Children in Rustington have been thinking of others and making Easter cards for people living in nearby care homes. At Georgian Gardens Primary School, year-six pupils made some beautiful cards for residents at Green Willow care home, in Vicarage Lane, East Preston. Designs included chicks, pull-out Easter eggs in a basket and Easter bunnies. Spring has been a theme for other art projects at Georgian Gardens, too, with year-one pupils enjoying a lesson focusing on drawing or painting daffodils that were picked from the school grounds.

Meanwhile, at Rustington Community Primary School, the children created cards for various care homes in the area. A whole pile of colourful cards was sent off, featuring 3D chicks, pop-up bunnies and cheerful egg designs. Cathy Wilson, office manager, said: “As this has been such a strange year for everyone, the children wanted to send their warm wishes, cards and notes from the children and staff to hopefully brighten up their day.” Rustington Hall said the Easter cards were lovely and the residents had really enjoyed reading them before they were put on display for all to enjoy.
