The Angmering School shares pictures of pets that have helped staff and students during lockown

Staff and students at The Angmering School have shared photos of the animals that have helped them during lockdown, saying stroking a pet can help people feel calmer, less stressed and even lower blood pressure.

Jazz always makes Mrs Foreman feel better, Pippin loves lots of fuss from owner George and Callum’s 16-year-old dog Lucas has been a good friend, as well as being very cuddly, just like Michael’s dog Chester. Charlotte says her fish have been keeping her calm by swimming towards her when she is near the tank and Miss Martin says her gorgeous dog Rufus has been the best company, often interrupting her live meetings.

Mrs Brown has a crazy 11-month-old cockapoo. She said: “We were very lucky as he arrived in our family on March 22, 2020, the day before the first lockdown. Bear loves human cuddles and his favourite toy is a pink elephant, which seems to have lost its arms, ears and now has only two legs!”

Harrison has six cats, Holly’s rescue cat Maisie eats with the family, Olivia’s cat Teddy totally relaxes her and Pablo helps Ms Hobbs with her year-10 lessons. Ms Hobbs says she does not know what she would do without him.

Keira’s dog Rosie was adopted at 14 weeks old and they have been side by side ever since. Kiera helps out at a rescue centre with dogs waiting for homes and says not only does it help her but also the dogs in its care.
