Shoreham lifeboat crew rescues woman from sea off Worthing

The Shoreham RNLI inshore lifeboat was launched to a report of a woman in distress in the sea at East Worthing today (Saturday, February 6).

The crew of the D-class boat located her in difficulty in the water and pulled her into the lifeboat.

The RNLI said she was responsive but very cold.

The crew wrapped her in blankets and she was quickly taken ashore to waiting ambulance paramedics, police and the Shoreham coastguard team. They stabilised her and she was taken to hospital.

Shoreham inshore lifeboat helm Hazel Condell said: “We were able to spot the casualty in the water quickly and pull her into the lifeboat.

“It was really good teamwork and a positive outcome. A life saved.”
