Six year old Hastings girl makes rainbow for the Queen and gets a letter in reply

Six year old Libbie Baker from Hastings sent a letter to the Queen along with a special rainbow she made and was delighted to get a letter back.

Libbie’s mum Aimee explained: “Libbie was so excited that the Queen now has her rainbow.

“Her school, Ark Blacklands Primary Academy, put a lovely post up on their social media to congratulate her too.”

Libbie’s letter included a rainbow made from colourful beads. She wrote: “Dear Your Royal Majesty whilst in lockdown I have been learning all about the United Kingdom. I have made a rainbow for your window. Lots of love.”

The reply, from the Queen’s Lady in Waiting, said: “The Queen wishes me to thank you for your letter and kind message. Her majesty much appreciates your kind thought in making a rainbow for her window and hopes that you are keeping safe and well.”

Aimee said: “Libbie was so excited to receive some post of her own and couldn’t believe it when she read the letter and it was from the Queen. We’re very proud of Libbie’s act of kindness and are so appreciative of the lovely response.”

Libbie said: “I was so excited when the letter arrived from the Queen. I’m pleased she liked the rainbow I made her, it made me feel very happy. I will look after this letter forever.”
