Jigsaw Day Nursery said the affected member of staff works at its day care centre, in Cumberland Gardens, St Leonards.

According to Jennie Jefferies, from Jigsaw Nursery, other staff members at the centre have been asked to self isolate in line with government guidelines.

As a result, the centre has been closed until 8am on Tuesday (February 16).

As a member of staff at Jigsaw Nursery’s playgroup site, in St Paul’s Road, is closely related to the confirmed case, that site has also been closed until Tuesday to allow staff working there to self isolate.

Both centres will reopen at 8am on Tuesday (February 16) once the self isolation period for staff members has ended and they can safely care for the children again.

No child has caught the virus, according to Jigsaw Nursery, and all families have received a letter about the confirmed case.

The college nursery, at The Plaza, Hastings station, is unaffected.
