Those signing up will receive a link to the service allowing them to take part in the comfort of their own homes.

The service, which is usually held at Pangdean Old Barn, is free to watch and will include readings and poems read by members of the hospice team.

For a donation of £19 or more, participants will receive a Lights of Love at home box with an order of service, a Christmas decoration and a candle to light during the service.

Fiona Gray, events fundraiser at St Peter & St James Hospice, said, “This has been an extremely difficult year and we feel that it is more important than ever to have the opportunity to reflect and come together as a community to remember our loved ones.

“As a charity, we rely on the generosity of our community to raise over 80 per cent of our running costs.

“Hospice care is very much about coming together to support local families, so events like this really do make a huge difference.

“Through our inpatient ward, wellbeing services and specialist community nursing team, St Peter & St James Hospice continues to provide expert and compassionate hospice care to local people living with terminal illness.

“Support is also offered to family and friends as they deal with the challenges of bereavement and grief.”
