Members of the public have been warned away from the fire-damaged Claremont Hotel in Eastbourne as a safety precaution to Storm Ciara.

Eastbourne Borough Council tweeted earlier today (Sunday) advising people to keep away from the damaged building due to fear of falling debris - this comes after The Met Office released an amber wind warning across Sussex.

Eastbourne Borough Council said on Twitter, “Due to the amber wind warning, please avoid the immediate area of the Claremont Hotel as there could be falling debris. We are on site and monitoring the situation.”

Storm Ciara has already caused damage to parts of Eastbourne today and the windy weather is expected to continue tomorrow as The Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning for the south east of the country.
