The first Great Alfriston Pancake Race – in pictures

Pancake races took place in Alfriston yesterday (Sunday, February 23) as the public turned out for the first Great Alfriston Pancake Race.

Business owners Martin Pite, of Shot Coffee House, and Penny Macleod, of Totties Toy House, organised the event – thought to be the first of its kind in the village – to ‘embrace’ the road closure of the High Street and North Street as South East Water replaces an unreliable water main.
