East Sussex County Council confirmed today (March 24) that parking contractor NSL has judged it ‘safe’ for wardens to carry out parking enforcement duties.

An East Sussex County Council spokesman said, “At present, our parking contractor, NSL, has judged that it’s safe for its employees to continue to carry out parking enforcement while maintaining safe distancing to protect staff and the public.

“Enforcing parking restrictions is important in ensuring people park safely and sensibly, reducing congestion, maintaining public access to key services and making sure people with resident permits can park close to their homes – particularly important as many people are currently working from home.

“As with all of our services, we will continue to monitor the situation with our contractor in the days and weeks ahead.”
