Travellers arrive in Stone Cross park

A resident in Stone Cross has raised concern after a group of travellers arrived in a local park today (Friday, May 7).

The travellers have set up in Adur Park in Stone Cross just off Lion Hill after arriving at approximately 10am.

Police have been seen in the park earlier today and a local resident has said a washing line been set up as well as a dog kennel.

A spokesperson from Sussex Police said, “Police were made aware of a group of travellers arriving at Adur Park, Stone Cross, on Friday morning (May 7).

“Officers, in liaison with the local authority, have attended the site and are engaging with the group.”

Westham Parish Council, that own the land, has been contacted for a statement.

This comes two days after travellers arrived in Hampden Park.
